Vegan Thai Iced Tea

It is believed that the original Thai Iced Tea recipe was created by a former Thai Prime Minister, when Thailand started importing black tea from China in the 1980s! Our Vegan recipe uses Coconut milk instead of the traditional condensed milk so even more people can enjoy this delicious beverage.


  • 1 lt Water
  • 2 heaped tbsp Loose black tea
  • 4-6 tbsp Thai Taste Palm Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 400ml Light Coconut milk
  • 50ml Dark Rum per serving - optional

Steps for cooking

  • 1.In a large pan, bring the water to a boil. Once boiling,remove from the heat and add the black tea. Stir and let steep for a further 5 minutes.
  • 2. Remove the tea leaves by passing the tea through a tea strainer. Add the vanilla and palm sugar to your taste. Cover and set in the fridge to chill.
  • 3. Once the tea is chilled, fill your glasses with ice, then 3/4 full of the black tea. Top with the coconut milk, stir, and then enjoy!
