Thai Satay Skewers

A South-East Asian classic, these skewers are perfectly marinaded in a spicy and peanutty Thai sauce. Great for a hot grill or BBQ.


  • 150ml Thai Taste Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • 100g All-natural Peanut Butter
  • 4 Shallots, finely chopped
  • 4tbsps Thai Taste Oyster Sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1tsp chopped Thai Taste Lemongrass.
  • 2-3 large garlic cloves
  • 1 Bird’s Eye Chilli
  • 650g Chicken, sliced into bite-size chunks
  • Pre-soaked bamboo skewers
  • Lime wedge for serving

Steps for cooking

  • 1.In a large bowl add the Sweet Chilli sauce,shallots,oyster sauce,lime juice chopped lemongrass,garlic,chilli and peanut butter and mix.
  • 2. Mix until it is all combined,if it feels too thick,you can add some coconut milk. Remove half of the mixture and store in a covered bowl. This will be kept for serving as an additional dip.
  • 3. Add the chicken to the remaining halve in the large bowl,mix,and let marinate. (30 minutes)
  • 4. Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers and then onto a high heat grill or BBQ to cook.
  • 5. Make sure to check the chicken is cooked thoroughly before serving.
  • 6. Serve with the retained satay sauce and a lime wedge!
